Comparison of Prices to Local Competitors
Walmart uses an independent third party to collect print and digital advertisements published by other top retailers in your geographic area. While the advertised prices are believed to be accurate, Walmart makes no representations or warranties as to the truth or accuracy of the prices actually charged by other retailers.
The Walmart Savings Catcher compares prices based on print and digital advertisements published by other retailers in the same geographic area for identical items at the time the items were purchased at participating Walmart stores, subject to the restrictions below.
The Walmart Savings Catcher compares identical items based on an item’s Universal Product Code (UPC). In addition, these items must be identical in size, weight, quantity, brand, flavor, color, etc. – even if they share the same UPC – in order to be compared.
Items Eligible for Walmart Savings Catcher
Many grocery, consumable and health and wellness items (must be identical and match UPC to UPC) purchased at participating Walmart stores are eligible for comparison using the Walmart Savings Catcher, except for: produce, items sold in the bakery department, fresh or variable weight meat, items sold in the deli department, and seafood.
General merchandise is not eligible, including but not limited to: outdoor living consumables, office supplies, apparel, DVD’s, electronics, CD and gaming media, toys, housewares, small appliances, sporting goods, home décor, bedding, books and magazines, shoes, jewelry, furniture, seasonal products.
In addition, the following items are not eligible for comparison using the Walmart Savings Catcher: Non-branded items, tobacco, alcohol, firearms, gasoline, tires, prescription drugs, optical and photo products and services, or products that require a service agreement such as wireless, automotive or financial products.
Items placed on layaway are not eligible for Savings Catcher.
Deals that are listed as available with a clearly stated manufacturer’s coupon, "on pack coupon,” or "coupon commonly found in Sunday newspaper” are not eligible for Savings Catcher.
Prices to be Compared Against
The Walmart Savings Catcher compares prices for identical items against print and digital ads from Local Competitor Retailers. "Local Competitor Retailers" means the top retail stores based on sales in the competitive trade area of the Walmart store where the transaction took place. The competitive trade area is determined by The Nielsen Company based on a number of factors, including the number of stores and people in the area. Local Competitor Retailers may change from time to time without notice to the user.
The Walmart Savings Catcher compares print and online versions of print ads of Local Competitor Retailers that were valid on the day and time of the transaction for which the TC# was entered. The Walmart Savings Catcher compares ads that feature the same item at a specified price that was valid on the day and time the same item was purchased at a participating Walmart store. This includes prices based on preferred shopping card memberships. The Walmart Savings Catcher does not compare the following types of offers:
Items that require a separate purchase to get the ad price (example: "Buy oatmeal to get cereal for $1" or "Cereal for $0.50 with $25 purchase in store.")
Items with no actual price that require a purchase to get free product (example: "Buy both [items A & B] to get [item C] for free")
Items that require a purchase to get a gift card (example: "Buy [item A] to get a $B gift card")
Buy one, get one free (BOGO) ads with no actual price given
Prices inclusive of rebates
Going out of business or closeout prices
Percentage off (example: "All mascara, 40% off")
Deals that require a competitor coupon that imposes a quantity limit (example: Pepsi 2 Liter $0.29 Limit 1 with competitor coupon)
Deals that require a case purchase to receive a special price (example: Campbell’s soup for $0.50 each when you buy a case of 24 for $12.00)
The Walmart Savings Catcher compares prices irrespective of any coupons applied. If a Local Competitor Retailer’s price is lower on an identical product, you will receive that difference even if you ended up paying less due to the use of a coupon.
Receiving Savings Catcher Rewards
If the Walmart Savings Catcher identifies purchased items that were advertised at a lower price at a Local Competitor Retailer, the difference between the advertised price and the purchase price will be credited to the user’s account ("Savings Catcher Rewards") after all eligible items in a valid receipt have been checked against Local Competitor Retailer ads using the Walmart Savings Catcher. In some states, sales tax on the Savings Catcher Rewards will also be credited to the user’s account.
Amounts credited through the Walmart Savings Catcher will automatically be loaded to your Savings Catcher Rewards eGift Card for you to spend during your next in-store purchase using Walmart Pay or online during your next Walmart.com transaction.
When you pay for your items via Walmart Pay, your Savings Catcher Rewards will default to be automatically deducted from the amount owed, and you can then choose how you would like to pay for the remaining balance.
You may turn off the automatic Savings Catcher deduction feature by turning off your gift cards as a payment option, allowing you to accumulate your Savings Catcher Rewards.
Walmart Savings Catcher Rewards are subject to standard Walmart Gift Card Terms and Conditions, which are available here.
The maximum amount that can be redeemed using the Walmart Savings Catcher in any calendar year is Five Hundred and Ninety Nine Dollars and Ninety Nine Cents. ($599.99) per individual.
Savings Catcher Rewards cannot be redeemed for cash.
Any Savings Catcher Rewards placed in a user’s account in violation of these terms may be revoked by Walmart in its sole discretion.
Returned items are not eligible for Savings Catcher Rewards if the receipt is submitted to Savings Catcher after the item has been returned.
If Savings Catcher Rewards have been credited on an item, and that item is returned, the refund to the customer upon return of the item will be the amount paid minus the Rewards already credited for the item. The return refund will be given in the original tender type paid.
Items that receive a Walmart Associate Discount are eligible for the Walmart Savings Catcher. To determine Rewards, Savings Catcher compares the price paid including the Associate Discount to the competitor’s advertised price.

Walmart may revise these Terms at any time at its discretion without notice to the user. Nothing in these Terms will limit Walmart from exercising any legal rights and remedies available under law.
